Harrison High School kicked off their 2017-2018 school year with their annual homecoming dance. This year the school body decided on the Roaring Twenties as a theme, which was based upon the book The Great Gatsby.

Homecoming is a time for gathering and having fun, which was quite evident upon the faces of the students attending the dance.

“I thought it was fun,” senior Alex Poggi said. “They did a good job with the theme.”

The night also allowed the students to create memories with their friends to hold onto and remember.

“It was a great time with great people,”  senior Drew Hinkley said. “My friend John and I had a lot of fun getting the party started.”

“It was an exciting experience because all of my friends were there having a great time, which made it a very memorable experience.” senior Taman Mukkatira said.

“It was a really fun first experience because of the music, decorations, and all of my friends,” freshman Daniel Green said. “Everything together just made a really great night.”

While some had a good time at the dance, others were not so impressed.

“I left early,” senior Zach Harless said. “I didn’t like the music, and the lights were turned on, so I felt like it ruined the mood of the dance.”

Administrators at the dance were happy with the annual event.

“I thought it was a fabulous time,” Mrs. Leach said. “The theme was new and fresh, which allowed us to do a lot with the decorations. The only downside though was that the PSAT testing on that Wednesday removed a spirit day for our school.”

With endless friends and good memories HHS has kicked off their 2017-2018 school year with a night to cherish.
