Hawk Goals!

For seniors it is their last year, so finding ways to make it better is important.  In a survey of both seniors and administrators we asked, “How can seniors and administrators come together?”

Hamza Kidwai, 12, said, “The administration should listen to senior opinions because they are very important, especially  since it’s our last year. Also Kidwai, said, “Listening to senior opinions is a good way to please seniors and make them happy.”

Talha Rehman,12 ,said, ” I think the administrators are always in the offices all the time, so I would appreciate administrators to communicate and interact with seniors by being in the halls more, talking to students individually, and getting to know them on a personal level than a class size.”

Assistant Principal Ms. Leach said, “They can come together by communicating and coming to the class board and staff because their doors are always open.”

Simone Wingate, 12, said “I always come to a class board representative or staff member when I have a question about school events. For example, I asked a staff member when is the prep rally?”

The administrators were asked- How can seniors help improve our HHS environment?

Leach said, “Seniors should view themselves as role models to younger students and realize that their behavior can have a positive impact on younger students.”

In response, Kidwai, 12, said “I do agree… because to make change for a better year, you have to put in your own effort and time since you can’t expect change without doing work.”

Last, seniors were asked- How can the year be better?

Kidwai said, ” Being able to have an open campus lunchtime and having more freedom will make the year better because it will build trust among seniors and administrators. Also Kidwai said, “Due to religious regions students may want the open campus lunchtime  to worship their faith and may feel uncomfortable doing it at school.”

Rehman,12,said, ” There should be more spirit weeks, pep rallies, and more school spirit activities because it is a way to show more pride in the school, especially since we are competing against different schools in the districts.

Not to mention, Kidwai, said, “Bringing more school spirit makes it fun for students, and it gives them the opportunity to do something crazy.”

”More seniors should join the twitter feed,” Leach said, “Every senior should make a goal to make their year better, then everyone would take pride in making the year better.”
